Wise words indeed. especially the last line. soil depletion is not a 'sexy' environmental issue, but if we continue to ignore it, one of these days it's gonna come back and bite us on the ass! soil fertility is a crucial factor in the sustainability of human civilization. i like that he identifies the underlying crisis as one of awareness and participation. yes, that's the path i walk these days, always seeking greater awareness and ways to increase participation. soil is my thing. i came to focus on it, after many years of activism, by asking the question "how can i be most effective in the environmental movement?", coupled with a desire to grow some of my own food. it took me on a path of gardening workshops, and a Biodynamic farm apprenticeship. now i consult on soil health, and sell the best compost on the planet. i hope this serves to inspire others to participate in what Michael Ableman is suggesting here. find your niche and work it... Eat well everyone and be well.
