Excellent article! I think you brought up insightful points about anger in general and with women in particular. For me, the most impactful part was sharing your personal experience from your project and the childhood triggers that occurred. Thank-you.

I think it's horrifying and disgusting what you two have been put through.

But I would suggest: it’s not about aesthetics, or appropriate land usage, or healthy food, or the dangers of GMO, or the nuisance of pests, or waves of the future, or any of that. It’s about two things:

* petty jealousy
* power

This is what western civilization has been reduced to: You are productive, happy, and free. Your neighbors resent the crap out out of you, because of it. So, the solution is to find someone with a gun, and threaten you with it until you submit.

These are sad times, indeed.

I realize I'm a bit late on posting on this, but I just read the Macleans article. I find it immensely irritating that articles like Macleans don't acknowledge the environmental factor. In addition, I'm a young person just entering my chosen career field and I'm certainly not swimming in job opportunities that have been left by "boomers." In fact, I only wish that there were any job opportunities at all.

Your article is a breath of fresh air. Thank you!

Dear Lynn, thanks for calling me tonight and sharing our thoughts "live" and then sharing your links here. It had been too long since we chatted and it was so neat to hear your clear, deep, voice as it continues to ponder the many purposes of things. I chuckled with your philosophizing with your father. What a gift! Yours truly, Amy

HI Glen-Loved it! Glad you came out of the trees. Really quite an enjoyable read-after the second time and a lot of thinking but a lot of memories of the same things with my parents, etc. Keep doing what you're doing boy-it's delightful!

Like everything beyond my beloved Dick and Jane primer, I struggled with the piece. But, after 3 or 4 readings, I came to the conclusion that I quite liked it. Good show!
